I'm a CPA (Chartered Professional Accountant) and I run this practice myself. I handle every file, every return and every call. There's no team of juniors between you and the person doing your books or your taxes, and the person you talk to doesn't change.

Anyone can call themselves an accountant. CPA is a regulated designation: it takes a degree, the CPA professional education program, a three-day final exam and 30 months of supervised experience, and after that I have to keep up my training every year and answer to CPA Ontario. I'm also a QuickBooks Online Advanced Certified ProAdvisor, so your books are set up and kept properly in the software I work in every day.

My firm is registered with CPA Ontario. I set up the practice around trades and service businesses because they need things like subcontractor tracking, WSIB premiums and GST/HST handled properly. Accountants who mostly work with retail clients often treat that as an afterthought.

My practice is still fairly new, and I'd rather be upfront about that. What it means for you is that I reply the same business day, I keep my workload at a level I can manage, and if something goes wrong, it's on me. There's nobody else to pass it to.
