Questions about pricing
How much does an accountant cost?
With me, a basic personal return is $80 to $120, a corporate return (T2) usually starts around $700 ($400 for a nil or very simple one), and monthly plans start at $400, $750 or $1,050 a month. You get an exact number for your business after a free 20-minute call.
Do you charge by the hour?
No. Ongoing work is a flat monthly price and one-off jobs are quoted up front, so a quick question doesn't turn into a surprise bill.
Why a starting price instead of one exact price?
Because every business is different. One with clean books and a single bank account takes less work than one with three accounts, a cleanup to do and several subs. The plans start at the prices above, and after the free 20-minute call I'll give you an exact monthly number.
Is there a contract?
No long-term contract. My plans are month to month, so you can cancel whenever you like, and your QuickBooks data stays yours. One-off jobs, like a single tax return, don't need any commitment either.
What isn't included in the monthly plans?
Catch-up and cleanup work is quoted separately, because it depends on how far behind the books are. Payroll is an add-on to your monthly plan, about $15 a month per employee.
