Privacy Policy

This website is run by Zachary Cummings, CPA Professional Corporation. In this policy, "I", "me" and "my" mean that corporation and me, Zachary Cummings. I'm committed to protecting your personal information under Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). This policy explains what I collect through this website, why I collect it and what happens to it.

What I collect and why

• Contact form: your name, email, phone number (optional), how you'd like me to get back to you, and your message. I only use this to reply to you.
• Booking: your name, email, any notes you add and the appointment time you pick. I use this to create the appointment in my calendar, with a Google Meet link, and to email you a reminder about an hour before the call.
• Resource requests: your name and email. I only use these to send you the resource you asked for.
• Analytics (if turned on): anonymized data about how the site is used, such as pages viewed, general location and device type. I use it to understand how people use the site and to improve it, and to count which of my Google ads lead to someone getting in touch. IP addresses are anonymized before they're stored.

I only collect what I need for the purpose stated when you give it to me.

Who else receives it (my service providers)

• Resend delivers the emails this site sends (contact, booking and resource request notifications).
• Cloudflare hosts this website and provides security and bot protection (Turnstile) on the forms.
• Google Workspace (Google Calendar and Google Meet) is used to check my availability, create your appointment and its video call link, and receive email.
• Google Analytics and Google Ads (if turned on) provide anonymized statistics about how the site is used and which ads lead to an enquiry. Ad personalization and Google signals are turned off, so this isn't used to show you ads elsewhere.

I don't sell your personal information, and I don't share it with anyone other than the service providers listed above, who help me run this site and respond to you.

Data outside Canada

Resend, Cloudflare and Google are based in the United States and may process or route data through systems outside Canada as part of providing their services. I choose providers that meet applicable privacy and security standards, and I'm telling you about this here so you know.

How long I keep it

I keep website form submissions (contact, booking and resource requests) only as long as I need them to respond to you, plus a reasonable follow-up period, and then I delete them. That's separate from records for an actual client engagement, like tax filings and bookkeeping records. Those are kept as professional and regulatory rules require, which is generally at least seven years for financial and tax records.

Cookies

This site only uses cookies needed for security (Cloudflare Turnstile, which protects the forms from spam) and, if analytics are turned on, Google Analytics cookies that measure usage and which ads bring people to the site. I don't use remarketing, ad personalization or cross-site tracking.

Your rights

You can ask what personal information I hold about you, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete information collected through this website. Just email me at info@zacharycummingscpa.ca.
