Bradford West Gwillimbury
Bradford West Gwillimbury is the Town of Bradford plus the old West Gwillimbury township, which takes in Bond Head, Coulson's Hill, Deerhurst, Dunkerron, Green Valley, Newton Robinson and Pinkerton. The 2021 census counted 42,880 people. Part of the Holland Marsh is inside the town, and the town shares the job of maintaining the Marsh's drainage system with King Township.
Bradford GO on the Barrie line and Highway 400 connect the town to the GTA, and the biggest construction project in the area is just getting started. The Bradford Bypass is a 16.3 km, four-lane highway between Highway 400 and Highway 404, and it will be numbered Highway 425. Major construction on the west section started in May 2026. That includes interchanges at Sideroad 10 and County Road 4 and a new freeway-to-freeway connection to Highway 400.
Subbing on bigger jobs
Big projects have layers of contractors, and a lot of the paperwork gets pushed down to the subs. WSIB requires a clearance to be in place before any construction work starts and for as long as the work lasts. You can only get one if your WSIB account is up to date, with premiums reported and paid. I track your WSIB premiums along with payroll and sub costs, so your account isn't what holds up a job.
T5018s work the same way. If you pay subs and more than half your business income comes from construction, CRA wants a slip for every sub you paid more than $500 in the year, not counting HST. If you're the sub, your GC's slip reports what they paid you, so your books need to match it.
What I can do for Bradford businesses
Bookkeeping & Accounting
Your books done properly every month. Reconciled, categorized and ready before CRA ever asks for anything.
Corporate Tax Returns (T2)
T2 returns for incorporated small businesses, built on books that actually reconcile.
Payroll
Simple payroll for a small crew, set up properly and run on schedule.
Business Advisory
Help with the money decisions most owners don't have anyone to ask about, like incorporating, salary or dividends, hiring, equipment and budgeting.
Trades & Subcontractors
The trades-specific stuff a general accountant can miss: subcontractor tracking, T5018s, WSIB and HST on construction work.
Personal Tax Returns (T1)
T1 returns for individuals and owner-operators. I file it and explain it in plain English.
Not a business owner?
I do personal tax returns for people in Bradford too. Maybe you've got a T4 job, you're doing an apprenticeship, you do some side work on weekends, or you haven't filed in a few years. Most returns cost $80 to $120.

Questions people in Bradford ask me
A GC wants my WSIB clearance before I start. Can you get it for me?
The clearance comes from WSIB, and they only issue it to businesses that are registered and up to date. My part is tracking your premiums and keeping your WSIB reporting on schedule, so your account is in good standing when you need one.
Do I need an accountant who's based in Bradford?
Not for the tax side of things. Ontario's 13% HST, WSIB and CRA rules are the same in Bradford as everywhere else in the province. I work remotely by phone, text, email and my secure client hub, and I reply the same business day.
I'm a sub, not a GC. Do I file T5018s?
Only if you also pay subcontractors yourself and more than half your business income comes from construction. If not, the business paying you files the slip, and the amount on it should line up with your books.
